Rearanging my infant room....in a DayCare Center

The Infant room I work in was very obviously not built to be an infant room. There is really no way to separate sleeping infants from the rest of the class. (by the way I work in Indiana, so I must follow Indiana state regulations.) I would like to make a make shift sleeping area, play area, as well as keep the diapering and feeding area somewhat off limits to playing children. As of now I have 8 cribs, two shelving units for toys, one desk (willing to get rid of if center allows), two bouncy seats, two saucers, and a padded floor play area( tunnel to go in slide to go down, great for the older ones but it has sides on it so we tend to you use it more for the nonclrawling ages.) Really the biggest issue in the classroom is the children coming onto the "Tiled" area. Away from the changing table, eating children, trash cans, and the refrigerator. But I would also like to build a little area for the children who are not sleeping to play.

Basically I am looking for any advice you may have or things that have worked for you. I really want it to feel like there is a separation from where the children to sleep and where they play. I think it is only fair to all children.

Thank you for reading and I look forward to hearing your responses and advice :)

Stacey
